Hwb is the national digital platform for education in Wales. It provides trusted digital tools, services and educational content to support learning, teaching, collaboration and practitioner development, and to help deliver Welsh Government education policy.
A Hwb resource is a practical, usable educational tool that helps a learner or practitioner achieve a clear learning, teaching or professional learning outcome.
A Hwb resource must:
have a clear educational purpose that supports learning, teaching, curriculum design, learner support or professional learning
be a usable learning or teaching tool such as an interactive activity, video, digital tool, or downloadable material
meet Hwb publishing criteria including being free, non-commercial, requiring no additional logins, and complying with Welsh language standards and accessibility requirements
be accurate, relevant, high-quality, user-focused and accessible
A Hwb resource is not:
guidance, policy or general informational content such as news articles or consultations, without a direct practical application
content without a defined user action or applied use
commercial or restricted-access materials requiring login or payment
content that fails accessibility or Welsh language compliance
If your content is not suitable as a Hwb resource, it may be better placed elsewhere, such as on GOV.WALES for policy or guidance content, as a blog or news article, or on another Welsh Government service page. If you are unsure where content should be published, contact the Education Content mailbox for advice: EducationContent@gov.wales.
