This guide is for anyone creating educational resources for publication on Hwb.
In this guide, the term ‘resource’ refers to materials designed to support:
learning and teaching
curriculum design
professional learning
It sets out 7 key principles aimed at helping you to produce high-quality education resources that are relevant in Wales. Each principle is supported by guidance on things to consider, as well as things to avoid in the development of resources.
It also provides guidance on Hwb’s criteria and technical specifications, outlining the requirements and legal obligations that must be met before a resource can be published on Hwb.
Use this guide as you plan, develop and review your resource.
As you work through it, make sure you:
understand the requirements for Hwb resources and whether your content is suitable for publication
consider who your resource is for and where it belongs on Hwb
meet all requirements, including:
Hwb publishing criteria
accessibility requirements
Welsh language standards
check your resource is ready before submitting it
Each section supports one or more of these stages, helping you review your work as you go.
When your resource is ready, use the checklist on the ‘Check and submit your resource’ page to confirm it meets all the necessary requirements. If it does, submit it for review using the relevant request form.
If you'd like to discuss your resource before submitting it, please get in touch.
